Where To Start, When To Stop

Where To Start, When To Stop is not about defining a beginning or end, but about allowing the piece—and the viewer—to explore where it naturally wants to go.

In my studio, an object exists without predetermined meaning, free from judgment or expectation. It lingers in a state of becoming—an undefined residue. This openness is echoed in the work itself: a thin, translucent canvas painted on both sides. Created during a residency in a small studio in Mexico City, the piece emerged organically, shaped by its intimate surroundings. Paint is poured directly onto the unprimed surface, where it seeps and stains with fluid, organic movement. Vibrant reds and blues dissolve into deep violets, while bright yellows flow beside soft blues. At BIG ART, the piece is allowed to breathe and unfold.

Where To Start, When To Stop is not fixed; it constantly interacts with its environment, adapting and evolving. Carefully stretched and swaying—in dialogue, alive and responsive.
